01The Company

Subtropical Arborists exists to bring genuine arboriculture to South Florida tree care — the kind performed by a certified climber who understands tree structure, health, and risk, not simply a crew with saws.

Over more than ten years and 150-plus completed jobs, the work has centered on structural pruning, difficult and dangerous removals, and the technical climbing that lets a tree be worked from within its own canopy. Crane-assisted removals are used when a job calls for it.

The approach is deliberately the opposite of much of the local market: standards first, honest recommendations, and no topping.

02How We Work

A few principles the work is built on.

  • The arborist does the work

The person who assesses your tree is the person who climbs it. Nothing is quoted by one person and handed off to a crew that has never seen the tree.

  • Standards over shortcuts

All pruning follows ANSI A300 and ISA Best Management Practices. No topping, no lion-tailing, no flush cuts — even when a client asks for them.

  • Honest recommendations

If a tree does not need to come down, that is what you will hear. Removal is a last option, not a default.

  • Care for the tree and the property

Climbing access means no heavy equipment across the lawn, and rigged removals protect what is below. The site is left clean.

03Community

Rooted in Miami-Dade.

Beyond client work, Subtropical Arborists is a board member and volunteer with TREEmendous Miami, a local tree-planting nonprofit, and is active in tree protection advocacy across Miami-Dade County.

That involvement is part of the same commitment: South Florida’s canopy is worth preserving, and good arboriculture is how it is kept healthy for the long term.
